Pigs in a Blanket

Lauren Gauthier's after-school snack, the one her mom made for her when she got off the bus. Three ingredients and twelve minutes. In her words, it isn't fancy, but it's a good one for a teenager or anybody just learning their way around a kitchen.

Ingredients

  • 8 Nathan's hot dogs
  • 1 can Pillsbury crescent rolls
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Heat the oven. Preheat to 350°F.
  2. Prepare the pan. Spray a baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray.
  3. Cut everything. Cut the hot dogs in half, vertically and horizontally. Slice each piece of cheese in half.
  4. Unroll the dough. Unroll the crescents and stretch them out, making sure there's enough room for the hot dog and cheese to fit.
  5. Roll them up. Combine the hot dog and cheese, place at the end of the crescent and roll up into a dome.
  6. Bake. Bake at 350°F for 12 minutes.

Recipe Notes

  • From Lauren: I like to dip mine in honey mustard.
