Share
Lexi McKendall makes this one, originally from @stealth_health_life on TikTok. Day-old rice is the move, and the chili crisp shows up twice, once in the marinade and once in the sauce.
Ingredients
- 28 oz chicken breast, cubed
Marinade
- 1 tablespoon chili crisp
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- ½ tablespoon pepper
- ½ tablespoon gochugaru
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon avocado oil
Honey garlic sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon chili crisp
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 4 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon mirin
- ½ tablespoon gochugaru
To finish
- 650g cooked rice (280g dry weight), preferably day-old
- ½ cup chopped green onion
- ½ cup onions
- Bell pepper, optional
- Sesame seeds
Instructions
- Prep the chicken. Tenderize the boneless skinless chicken breasts and slice into cubes.
- Marinate. Make the marinade and let the chicken sit at least 30 minutes.
- Make the sauce. Combine the honey garlic sauce ingredients.
- Cook the chicken. Cook over high heat until cooked through, then remove.
- Cook the onions. Add the onions to the pan and cook.
- Combine. Once the onions are cooked, add the day-old rice, the chicken, and the honey garlic sauce.
- Serve. Top with green onions and sesame seeds.
Recipe Notes
- Gochugaru: substitute red chili flakes if you can't find it.
- From Lexi: she adds bell pepper to hers.
