Daddy's Meatloaf

Dale Brown's first meatloaf, and he sent it in with no fanfare at all. The move worth stealing here is turning it out of the loaf pan onto a sheet pan before glazing, so the barbecue and brown sugar can set up under the broiler instead of pooling around the sides.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground meat
  • 1 cup seasoning blend
  • 1 cup seasoned panko
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • ⅓ cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 eggs
  • Seasoning, to taste

Glaze

  • ½ cup barbecue sauce
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • Red pepper flakes
  • Brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Heat the oven. Preheat to 350°F.
  2. Mix. Combine all the ingredients in a mixing bowl.
  3. Pan it. Put the mixture in a loaf pan.
  4. Bake. Cook for 40 minutes, then take it out of the oven and flip it out of the loaf pan onto a cookie sheet.
  5. Glaze. Add the glaze on top and put it back in the oven on broil for 5 minutes.
  6. Rest. Take it out and rest 10 minutes before slicing.
