Aunt Stella's Short Ribs

Aunt Stella makes these every year for Thanksgiving. Three ingredients in the marinade, an overnight soak, and four low-and-slow hours in the oven — then a quick broil if you want the edges to catch.

Ingredients

  • Short ribs
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup honey BBQ sauce
  • ¼ cup Worcestershire sauce

Directions

  1. Combine the chicken broth, honey BBQ sauce, and Worcestershire sauce. In a foil pan, rub the mixture over the short ribs.
  2. After the rub down, put the ribs into a large plastic storage bag, pour in the mixture, and marinate overnight.
  3. Preheat oven to 275°F.
  4. Put the marinated ribs and their juices into a foil pan.
  5. Bake covered for 4 hours. You can turn them halfway through if need be.
  6. Turn off the bake, remove the foil cover, and broil at 500°F for about 5 minutes or less, depending on how you want them. Broiling is optional.
